Kwong Wai Shiu is proud to be one of the pioneer members of the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) Learning Enterprise Alliance that is committed to strategic adoption of learning and innovation at work for continuous performance improvement. We have embraced embraced the Workplace Learning culture through the Thinking Nurse project. The project arose from our leadership team’s desire to empower each staff nurse with a continuous improvement mindset as well as the confidence and skills to make decisions and take actions within their capacity, logically and accurately, without always needing to defer to their supervisors and affecting timely patient care intervention. The project has already yielded tangible benefits in reducing re-work and incidences of delayed treatment in Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital.
