Community care providers are required to ensure their staff are mask fitted correctly and that the mask fitting exercise is conducted on an annual basis. As part of the MOH PPE Stockpile Programme, community care providers are supported with 3M and Halyard (formerly known as KC) N95 masks in a pandemic outbreak and as such provides the training for their respective masks. The mask fitter train-the trainer workshops are organised to equip appointed staff to conduct the mask fitting exercise for staff in the community care organisations that are part of the MOH PPE Stockpile Programme. Upon successful completion of the first year train-the-trainer workshop, the mask fitter will be issued with a certificate which will be valid for 1 year. For the second year, the mask fitter will require to attend re-certification for them to continue to conduct mask fitting in the second year. From third year onwards, auto renewal of the mask fitter’s certificate will be done by the appointed mask vendors on an annual basis with documentary proof required.
This is a mandatory course for healthcare staff who is appointed as N95 Mask Fitter to conduct the mask fitting exercise for other staff in the community care organisations that are part of the MOH PPE Stockpile Programme.
At the end of the course, learners should be able to:
- Understand details of regulations/laws/policies on respirators
- Identify features and types of N95 respirators
- Perform mask fitting
- Ensure proper respirator use
- Understand fitting instructions
- Understand user seal checks
- Conduct fit testing procedure
Certificate of Competency will be awarded by 3M and Halyard
A minimum of 75% attendance will be required for you to complete the programme and receive your certificate.

For N95 Respiratory Mask Fitter TTT workshops, each organization MUST provide details of 1 Point-of-Contact (Full Name; Staff Designation and Email Address) as the System Administrator of which a unique USER ID and password will be created for them to download the certificate individually for their staff on behalf of their organization.
