Course Overview

COURSE DESCRIPTION / AIMS

This is a 2-hour online micro-learning course (MLC) delivered via Gnowbe platform. The online learning activities to promote interactive learning include learn, think, apply, share, and quizzes.

The course aims to provide the learners with an opportunity to:

  1. demonstrate an understanding of the basic concepts and theories used in Nursing Informatics;
  2. demonstrate an understanding of importance of Nursing Informatics in patient care
  3. demonstrate an understanding of system development life cycle;
  4. demonstrate an understanding of database management system and Electronic Health Record;
  5. apply the key principles in information security; and
  6. explore the ethical issues in patient confidentiality.

 

Please Note:

A minimum of 75% attendance will be required for you to complete the programme and receive your certificate.

The dates for this course are not fixed as it is an online microlearning course and can be done at any date and time. If you are interested, simply head to the course page on AIC LMS and express your interest by clicking on any of the dates for your preferred month, and we will pass on your registration to Ngee Ann for them to enroll you in their microlearning platform.

Koh Geok Mui Michelle

Assistant Director, Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Ms Michelle Koh is the assistant director of Ngee Ann Polytechnic with over 26 years of experience. She holds a Masters in education (learning sciences and technology) from NTU (2013), a certificate in Introduction to Biomedical and Health informatics (AMIA 10×10) from Oregon Health and Science University (2011), a Post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing (Clinical Education) from La Trobe University, Australia (1999) and a Bachelor in Nursing from La Trobe University (1998). Prior to joining NP, she has worked in NUH as a nurse coordinator, and in NHC as a clinical instructor. Her area of specialization includes health informatics, clinical education, education, emergency nursing, cardiac nursing, and research.

Course Fees: $63.65 (excluding GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
