Course Overview

COURSE DESCRIPTION / AIMS

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Develop effective documentation using the process approach
  2. Document structure and control
  3. Develop policy, procedure and work instructions using process templates
  4. Design forms that are per the requirements of the SOP

 

COURSE OUTLINE

  1. What are the features and format of good SOPs
  2. Using the process approach to write SOPs
  3. How to write clear and concise documentation
  4. How to proofread SOPs for content, grammar and layout
  5. Basic data management for SOPs

 

Please Note:

A minimum of 75% attendance will be required for you to complete the programme and receive your certificate.

Target Participants

Nurses and healthcare professionals who wish to write standard operating procedures (SOPs) in clinical settings such as clinics, community hospitals, hospitals, nursing homes, and polyclinics.

Ms Celestine Seet

Lecturer, Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Ms Celestine is a lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She is an expert in the areas of Psychology (research methods and quantitative analysis), Linguistics (critical discourse analysis, syntax and morphology and proof-reading), Nursing Research (Research methods and quantitative analysis) as well as Training and Development. Ms Celestine has wide experience in curriculum development work and supplement teaching. Prior to joining Ngee Ann Polytechnic, she worked with the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board as a Psychologist (Research and Development). Ms Celestine holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology (Honours) in English Studies from National  University of Singapore and is currently working toward an Master of Education in Educational Assessment at National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University.

Course Fees: $639.25 (excluding GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
