Course Overview

  1. Deliver the different levels and types of care to meet the system’s common objectives.
  2. Describe the roles and functions of Singapore’s health ministry and its various agencies.
  3. Describe how Singapore’s healthcare system is organised to the public and private healthcare providers are regulated within Singapore’s healthcare system.
  4. Describe the nature and type of services provided by Community Care Organisations.
  5. Describe the Key Components of the Charities Act.
  6. Explain the Implications of the Code of Governance on Charities and Institutions of Public Character (IPCs).

Target Participants

Programme Managers, Programme Co-ordinators, Programme Executives, Case Workers and Care Workers in the Community Care sector.

Ms Shirley Lim

Ms Shirley Lim is currently the Senior Lecturer, Diploma in Health Services Management. With more than 3 decades of experience in both private and public healthcare sector, Shirley started her career with the public health institution in NUH as a nurse practitioner and progressed to operations in clinical areas of both public and private hospitals. Before moving to clinical operations, Shirley has 5 years of observation experience in outpatient of Bumrungrad International     Hospital Bangkok before the hospital was accredited by Joint Commission     International in 2002. She was also involved in clinical operations in Major Operating Theatre Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Other than managing the total operations, she led teams of West Point Hospital for clinical licensing requirement of MOH and obtained ISO reassessment.

Course Fees: $257.89 (inclusive of 7% GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
