 Describe the requirements for handling and collection of different types of waste
 Differentiate different types of wastes
 Demonstrate proper methods of bag closure, handling and collection
 Demonstrate procedures for handling com-mon problems

Course Trainers

This course is delivered by trainers from Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital.

Dr Khaw Aik Kia

Dr Khaw has accumulated over 18 years of healthcare management experience, having worked in both private and public healthcare sector. He is currently working as a Operations Manager at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH). He holds several qualifications: Doctor of Philosophy (National University of Singapore / Singapore / 2010), Master of Healthcare Management (Flinders University / Australia / 2018), Master of Science in Microbiology, Molecular Biology (University Putra Malaysia / Malaysia 2001), Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology (University Putra Malaysia / Malaysia 2000), and Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support – Caregiving Level (Caregiver Academy / Singapore / 2017).

Ms Sim Puay Cheng

Ms Sim is a registered nurse with over 30 years of clinical experience. She is currently working as a Senior Nurse Educator at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH). She holds several qualifications: Master of Arts (Human Resource Development) (SIM-George Washington University, USA / 1999), Bachelor of Nursing (La Trobe University, Australia / 1993), Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (National Institute of Education / Singapore / 2013), and WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (CBLD, Singapore / 2010). Her area of specialization includes critical care, gerontology, infection control and nursing education.

Course Fees: $110.21 (inclusive 7% GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
