Course Overview

Many organisations embark on continuous improvement, which involves incremental initiatives and innovations to achieve best practices. As the foundation of continuous improvement hinges on the strength of  organisational culture, some organisations face challenges in turning these improvement endeavours into fruits of labour. In this 1-day workshop, you will learn how to use Strategy Deployment and the Lean Transformation Framework to engage employees and implement sustainable continuous improvement plans for quality growth.

Dr Mustafa Shabbir Kurbanhusen

Dr Mustafa Shabbir Kurbanhusen is an Associate Professor (Engineering) and the Deputy Programme Director of the “Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering” undergraduate programme at Singapore  Institute of Technology (SIT). With 10 years of experience with productivity-related consultancy, Mustafa has worked with organisations ranging from healthcare and services, to manufacturing, as well as government. In addition to consultancy, he has been actively developing lean curriculum for education and delivers lectures on lean to both SIT’s undergraduates and to the public. Mustafa also sits on the faculty advisory panel of SIT’s Lean Transformation Innovation Centre, and has worked on Lean improvement projects in various healthcare organisations in Singapore, such as Mount Alvernia Hospital, NTUC Health and Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home.

Dr Tan Wei Ling, Angelina

Angelina is a Lean coach in the Lean Transformation Innovation Centre at Singapore Institute of Technology. She specialises in Lean thinking and practice, and has experience implementing Lean in various industries, from healthcare and finance to food and education. She is proficient in A3 thinking, value stream mapping, PDCA, 5S and kanban systems, visual management, and strategy deployment. Angelina has consulted for healthcare organisations such as Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital, Yishun Community Hospital, St Luke’s Eldercare, and National Heart Centre Singapore. She works closely with the staff, guiding them on their Lean journey to achieve their goals of continuous improvement and efficiency in their workplace.

Course Fees:$1812.85 (inclusive of 7% GST)


Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
