Course Overview

  1. To gain skills and knowledge of the Mandarin language
  2. To facilitate conversation in basic Mandarin with patients through topics:
    a) Enquiring Patient’s Personal Information
    b) Family relationships
    c) Describing numbers & Frequency
    d) Examining Patients – Describing body & Anatomy
    e) Describing Symptoms & Medical History
    f) Giving Instructions & Consultations
    g) Food & Nutrition
    h) Mental Health
    i) Discharging Patients
    j) Revision & role-play
  3. At the end of this course, participants will be able:
    – To converse in basic Mandarin in the Community Care Sector

Participant(s) must have completed the Basic level of Conversational Mandarin prior to joining this level.

Please Note:

A minimum of 75% attendance will be required for you to complete the programme and receive your certificate.

All community care staff/ Participants who have completed inlingua’s Basic Conversational Mandarin for Healthcare Staff

Tu Lujiang

Chinese Language teacher, Inlingua school of languages

Mr Tu Lujiang is a Chinese Language teacher with more than 3 years of teaching and training experience and is currently working in the Inlingua school of languages. He holds a Bachelor in International Trade from the University of Commerce, China (1999), and a diploma in teaching Chinese language from Nanyang Technological University (2017). Prior to joining Inlingua, Mr Lujiang has worked in Hunan Mengjie Home Textile as an International Sales Manager, Business Media China AG as a personal assistant, and a free-lance Chinese language teacher. His area of specialization include teaching General Mandarin courses on the school curriculum, and teaching business Chinese.

Loh Chew Choo

Chinese Language teacher, Inlingua school of languages

Ms Loh Chew Choo is a Chinese language teacher with more than 19 years of teaching and training experience and is currently working in the Inlingua school of languages. She hold a Bachelor of Chinese Studies and Japanese studies from the National University of Singapore (1998). Prior to joining Inlingua, Ms Loh has worked in MOE, Chinese Development Assistant Council, Raffles Girls’ School as a Chinese language teacher, and ACS International and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce as a trainer. Her area of specialization include teaching general Mandarin on the school curriculum and teaching business Chinese.

Geng Di

Head of Chinese, Inlingua school of languages

Mr Geng Di is the head of Chinese in the Inlingua School of Languages with more than 6 years of teaching and training experience. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Chinese language and Literature from the Beijing Union University, China (2012) and a Master of Arts, Chinese language from National University of Singapore (2015). Prior to joining Inlingua, Mr Geng Di has worked in China Comfort Travel Company as an administrative & manpower resource assistant, Beijing Mandarin school as a Chinese language teacher, People’s Daily Haiwainet Singapore Channel as a Journalist & Editor, and the Birmingham Academy as an Academic Affair Manager. His area of specialization include teaching General Mandarin courses on the school curriculum, teaching business Chinese and course and syllabus development.

Wang Jing

Chinese Language teacher, Inlingua school of languages

Wang Jing is a Chinese language teacher with more than 19 years of teaching and training experience. He/she holds a Bachelor of French Studies from the Ocean University of China (2004), and a Master of French Literature from Xiamen University (2007). Prior to joining Inlingua, Wang Jing has worked in several Shanghai companies such as TEAMWORK as an assistant to project manager, Pierre Fabre Group as an assistant to general manager, Chamber of Commerce of Paris lle-de-France as a project manager, CAPRAPI as a sales coordinator and Mandarin Collective as a Chinese language teacher. He/she specializes in teaching general mandarin course on the school curriculum and teaching business Chinese.

Course Fees: $517.40 (excluding GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in
eligible community care organisations.
