Course Overview

This course is intended for staff to build a strong foundation in Hokkien pronunciation and articulation. They will build up their competency in speaking and listening; basic conversational skills, grammar and sentence structure for daily use with residents/patients. At the end of the course, participants will be able to converse in simple Hokkien with residents/patients and their relatives, understand residents’/patients’ concern and answer enquiries.

  • Healthcare and other corporate sectors experience at St Luke’s Hospital, Ang Mo Kio Thye Hwa Kuan Hospital
  • Taught medical staff from several hospitals in Singapore

Mr Desmond Lim

  • Freelance trainer since 2016
  • Radio DJ with MediaCorp Radio 88.3FM
  • Conducted Conversational Hokkien Language Course organised by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) for nursing homes

Course Fees: $501.46 (inclusive of 7% GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in
eligible community care organisations.
