Course Overview

This course is intended for staff to build a strong foundation in English pronunciation and articulation. They will build up their competency in speaking and listening; basic conversational skills, grammar and sentence structure for daily use with residents/patients. At the end of the course, participants will be able to converse in simple English with residents/patients and their relatives, understand residents’/patients’ concern and answer enquiries.

Chris Driver

  • Bachelor in Intercultural Religious Studies Second Concentration in Communications from the Trinity Western University, Canada (2002)
  • English Language Teacher of the inlingua School of Languages since 2013
  • Experienced in teaching English language across Japan, China and Singapore such as the International School of English (Japan), SI – UK Education Council (Japan), Waseda University International (Japan), Nova –Chiba (Japan)

Sapna Menon

  • Master in Public Health from the New York University, USA (2001)
  • English Language Teacher of the inlingua School of Languages since 2017
  • Worked with the Teacher Development Centre of the British Council since 2016
  • More than 3 years of teaching experience and has extensive healthcare and corporate sectors experience with the British Council, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Queens Hospital Centre, Doshi Diagnostic
  • Prior experience in healthcare/research field in New York and has worked directly with patients and healthcare providers

Course Fees: $501.46 (inclusive of 7% GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
