Course Overview

  1. To facilitate conversation in basic Mandarin with residents/patients through topics:
    • Basic Greetings
    • Numbers
    • Common Activities
    • Time & Money
    • Relationships & Colours
    • Places & Directions
    • Anatomy & Illnesses
    • Nursing Assessment
    • Moods & Ward Activities
    • Script Writing & Practice
    • Skit Performance (Filming)
  2. At the end of this course, participants will be able:- To pronounce Mandarin vocabulary accurately and speak Mandarin more confidently and fluently.  They will build up their competency and listening; able to master basic conversational skills, basic grammar and sentence structure for daily use.

A minimum of 75% attendance will be required for you to complete the programme and receive your certificate.

Yuntao Zhou

Chinese Language teacher, Inlingua school of languages

Mr Yuntao Zhou is a Chinese language teacher with more than 13 years of teaching and training experience and is currently working in the Inlingua school of languages. He holds a Master of Arts from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University (2016). Prior to joining Inlingua, Ms Loh has worked as a programme producer in several radio and broadcasting organisations such as Radio Television Hong Kong, Far East Broadcasting Association and Trans World Radio GR Office. He has also taught in the Beijing BISS International School. His area of specialization includes broadcasting, programme producing, teaching Cantonese, business Chinese and general Mandarin courses on the school curriculum.

Loh Chew Choo

Chinese Language teacher, Inlingua school of languages

Ms Loh Chew Choo is a Chinese language teacher with more than 19 years of teaching and training experience and is currently working in the Inlingua school of languages. She hold a Bachelor of Chinese Studies and Japanese studies from the National University of Singapore (1998). Prior to joining Inlingua, Ms Loh has worked in MOE, Chinese Development Assistant Council, Raffles Girls’ School as a Chinese language teacher, and ACS International and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce as a trainer. Her area of specialization include teaching general Mandarin on the school curriculum and teaching business Chinese.

Liming Chen

Chinese Language teacher, Inlingua school of languages

Mr Liming Chen is a Chinese language teacher with more than 4 years of teaching experience and is currently working in the Inlingua school of languages. He holds a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University (2014). Prior to working for Inlingua, Mr Chen has worked in Sun Yat Sen University, China as an office assistant, Zhuhai Middle School as a teaching assistant and YMCA Education Centre as a teacher & Administrative Executive. His area of specialization includes teaching general mandarin courses on the school curriculum, business Chinese and Cantonese.

Ke Qin Lu

Chinese Language teacher, Inlingua school of languages

Mr Ke Qin Lu is a Chinese language teacher with more than 7 years of teaching and training experience and is currently working in the Inlingua school of languages. He holds a postgraduate diploma in Education (Chinese) from Nanyang Technological University (2009). Prior to joining Inlingua, Mr Lu has worked in the TaipeiEYE for Chinese performing Arts, and Novel Hall for performing Arts as an interpreter & usher, the Changkat Primary School as a Chinese language teacher and LeXueWu Chinese Educational Studio as a language & Curriculum Consultant. His area of specialization includes teaching general mandarin courses on the school curriculum, advanced Chinese language & cultural training, curriculum development and interpretation.

Course Fees: $517.40 (excluding GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in
eligible community care organisations.
