Course Overview
This programme will provide you with the concepts and applications to perform the roles and responsibilities of a Clinical Governance Officer for a Nursing Home (or equivalent). The roles and responsibilities of a CGO include:
- Oversight of the planning, development, co-ordination and evaluation of the Nursing Home service.
- Maintenance of oversight over Healthcare Professionals (nurses, doctors, allied health professionals) and ensures care delivered is in accordance with standards and based on best-evidence available.
- Ensuring safe and quality care.
- Ensuring appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services.
Participants must attend the course for Quality Assurance for QAC Supervisors course first before attending this course.
COURSE OBJECTIVES / OUTLINE
Day 1:
Learn how to:
- Develop a clinical governance and risk management framework, to build a safety culture
- Engage residents and manage feedback
- Build a competent and effective workforce
Day 2:
Learn how to :
- Identify and measure patient safety indicators for performance and improvement
- Interpret audit findings and identify recommendations/ solutions

- Case analysis and discussion
The training curriculum and materials include training objectives, contextualised case studies, teaching aids, training slides and assessments (including MCQs).

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singapore Citizens / Permanent Residents and 45% for Work Pass Holders working in eligible community care organisations.

Course Details
Course Fees: $1350.00 (excluding GST)
Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organizations.
