Course Overview

This programme aims to equip participants with the clinical knowledge and skills essential for identifying the common medical conditions within a nursing home setting and their impact on rehabilitation out-comes for residents. This set of skills enables participants to develop age-appropriate activities to optimize their ADLs and social function.

Course Trainers

This course is delivered by trainers from Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital.

Ms Juliana Wang

Ms Juliana Wang is a physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience. She is currently working as a Senior Physiotherapist at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH). Prior to joining the community care sector, Ms Wang has worked at two major tertiary hospitals in Singapore. She holds several qualifications: Master of Science in Neurological Physiotherapy (Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong / 2013), Bachelor of Physiotherapy (University of South Australia / Australia / 2007), and Diploma in Physiotherapy (Nanyang Polytechnic / Singapore / 2005). Her area of specialization includes neuro-rehabilitation and geriatric rehabilitation.

Ms Anita Yiu

Ms Anita Yiu is a occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience. She is currently working as the Head, Kwong Wai Shiu Care. Prior to joining the community care sector, Ms Yiu has worked in several public and private or-ganizations in Hong Kong and Singapore. She holds a Bachelor of Occupa-tional Therapy from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong (1997). Her area of specialization includes occupational Therapy clinical skills, elderly care, neuro-geriatrics care, training and development . She is extensively in-volved in in-house training courses for therapists, therapy aides and care staff at KWSH.

Course Fees: $501.48 (inclusive 7% GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
