Course Overview

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the role of the rescuer in the “Chain of Survival”.
2. Activate the Emergency Medical Response system.
3. Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adult and infant victims.
4. Relief foreign body airway obstruction in an adult and infant victim.
5. Use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on an adult victim.
**Course is approved by Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC)

Course Trainers

This course is delivered by trainers from Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital.

Ms Sim Puay Cheng

Ms Sim is a registered nurse with over 30 years of clinical experience and SRFAC-accredited chief instructor. She is currently working as a Senior Nurse Educator at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH). She holds several qualifica-tions: Master of Arts (Human Resource Development) (SIM-George Wash-ington University, USA / 1999), Bachelor of Nursing (La Trobe University, Australia / 1993), Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (National Institute of Education / Singapore / 2013), and WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (CBLD, Singapore / 2010). Her area of specialization includes critical care, gerontology, infection control and nursing education.

Dr Sam Goh

Dr Sam Goh is a registered nurse with more than 14 years of experience and SRFAC-accredited chief instructor. He is currently working as a Senior Nurse Clinician at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH) and also serves as an adjunct faculty with the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies at National University of Singapore. He has extensive experiences in the field of critical care, nursing management and education, having worked in several tertiary hospitals in Singapore. Prior to joining the community care sector, Dr Goh was extensive-ly involved in many training and development programs for healthcare profes-sionals in Singapore, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Australia.

Course Fees: $66.13 (inclusive of 7% GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
