KWSH has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Temasek Polytechnic (TP) on 30 Jan to further our commitment to fostering skills-building, learning, innovation, and advancement between the organisations in our efforts to strengthen the community care sector. Two other organisations that were invited to the event and signed MOUs with TP were Lions Befrienders and Allkin Singapore (previously known as AMKFSC).
Through the strategic partnership with TP, KWSH will be supporting students enrolled in the Diploma in Social Sciences in Gerontology course by offering practical learning, as well as internship opportunities as part of the community-based nursing support and basic gerontological counselling modules.
KWSH CEO Dr Mok Ying Jang shared, “We are very happy to be able to play a part in grooming the prospective care professionals. We are confident that this collaboration will provide invaluable hands-on experience for their future careers and accelerate their learning journey.”
Attachment opportunities at the Hospital will also be extended to TP staff for their professional and personal development. Leveraging on each organisation’s expertise in joint research projects, this collaborative effort will enable us to unlock new opportunities and pioneer innovative solutions that will address the challenges of the community care sector.
This partnership is the latest addition to the Hospital’s extensive strategic collaborations with educational institutions, which includes the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Republic Polytechnic (RP), Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and many other organisations.
