COURSE DESCRIPTION / AIMS
At the end of this course, participants will be able:
- Describe what is ageing and what is active ageing.
- Understanding the changing landscape of health and health promotion in Singapore.
- Understanding the benefits and barriers of physical activity.
- Describe the association between physical fitness and functional fitness.
- Identifying the various safety factors before embarking on an exercise regime.

- Introduction to Active Ageing
- Understanding the changing landscape of health and health promotion in Singapore.
- Explore how affluence and lifestyle changes can lead to increase prevalence of chronic diseases.
- Understanding the biology of ageing.
- Understanding what is the determinants of active ageing.
- Understanding what is physical ageing.
- Understanding the psychology of physical ageing.
- Understanding the benefits and barriers of physical activity.
- Benefits and barrier to physical activity.
- Describe the association between physical fitness and functional fitness.
- Identifying the various safety factors before embarking on an exercise regime.
Please Note:
A minimum of 75% attendance will be required for you to complete the programme and receive your certificate.
Target Participants
Programme Managers, Programme Co-ordinators, Programme Executives, Case Workers and Care Workers in the Community Care sector.
Course Details
Course Fees: $106.09 (excluding GST)
Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organisations.
