Course Overview

COURSE DESCRIPTION / AIMS

To create awareness and importance for the need for EP training and readiness in order to deal with potential threats to the Community Care providers. To enable the participating Community Care EP coordinators to: 

  1. Design and plan for various threats, emergencies
  2. Develop EP SOPs and Exercise Plans
  3. To test and evaluate EP SOPs and plans 

The course equips community care staff with knowledge on how to be prepared to deal with emergencies and manage disasters effectively at their workplace or at the community care sector. Learners will appreciate the different tactical and operational roles undertaken by various parties within and outside the organisation and how to implement an effective command and control capability. The course also covers post-emergency responses and business continuity plan.  

 COURSE OBJECTIVES / OUTLINE 

At the end of this course, participants will be able: 

1.1 Understand the need for emergency response plans and business continuity plans 

1.2 Determine operational risk and key operational threats, assess the impact and profitability, review available controls and mitigation plans 

1.3 Examine critical business functions and recovery priorities  

1.4 Analyse critical functions, Recovery Time Objective (RTO), Recovery Point Objective (RPO), inter dependencies and vital records 

1.5 Identify and examine the emergency preparedness structure, roles and responsibilities 

1.6 Assess the areas for concerns and action steps to be executed, mapping to the roles and responsibilities for key scenarios such as Pandemic, Cybersecurity, Haze and etc 

1.7 Develop and establish contingency plans  

1.8 Determine the crisis communications protocol to internal and external stakeholders 

1.9 Assess relevancy and recency of an Emergency Preparedness Response Plan through a simulation exercise

A minimum of 75% attendance will be required for you to complete the programme and receive your certificate.

Staff identified to attend the course should be a member of the organisation’s EP team or managing/leading the EP team.

Ms Goh Helin has more than 15 years working experiences which include experience as Director (Deloitte Risk Advisory) , Adjunct Trainer & Co-chair (PROI ASEAN).

Lek Hsiang Hui

Lecturer, NUS

Mr Martin Tan has been with Deloitte more than 6 years & has working experience in training management, instructional designer etc.

Course Fees: $850.00 (excluding GST)

Prevailing course fee subsidy at 90% for Singaporeans/ PRs and 45% for foreign staff working in eligible community care organizations.
